While opening up about his move away from City, Mahrez admitted he was extremely disappointed to miss out on important games. But he argued that it was not the reason why he left the Etihad in July.
“I have two years left on my contract with Manchester City. I can stay,” Mahrez told French newspaper L’Equipe this week.
“It was me who made the decision to leave. I feel that this opportunity (to move to Al Ahly) will not come again. Maybe it’s time to leave because I spent five years at City and won everything.
